New York was very cold but the warm hospitality of the Emmanuel Worship Center folks made me feel like I was in the middle of a summer season.
I had a wonderful weekend except Saturday evening when I had a severe migraine headache. I only missed one program. Since God never lets my enemy rejoice over me, He gave me double strength, anointing and health for me to stand the next morning and proclaim His Truth. May He alone be praised! Oh, how I love to be with Jesus!
Before I tell you about my trip, let me take this moment to say thank you to the people who opened their door for me and the Appeal for Purity Ministry.
So, I would like to say “Thank you” to Pastor Aschalew, his better half, Elsa, and all the elders and leaders of the Emmanuel Worship Center, for inviting me and the Appeal for Purity Ministry over. May the LORD bless you all and everything you do for the Kingdom of God.
I would also like to say “Thank you” to the entire congregation for praying for me on Saturday evening. I especially want to say “Thank you” to Dr. Alex and his better half, Shewa, for helping me get the best treatment ever and to Mahelet who stayed with me from Friday to Saturday and Promise (Kalkidan) who stayed with me from Saturday evening to Sunday late in the afternoon. You guys are amazing! May the LORD bless you and yours!
You know what I especially like about this trip?
Well, I’ve never given a sexual purity teaching to teenagers with their parents. Well, in New York, the teenagers came with their parents. I love that very much!
Parents sat at the back while all the teenagers sat at the front rows. After two sessions, parents were dismissed so that I and the teenagers would have discussion on topics such as, “So, how can one break the news of porn addiction or same sex attraction problem to his/her parents?”
Then teenagers were dismissed and I had time with parents where we discussed how we can fight for our kids’ sexual life. The teaching started with this statement:
“Let’s spare our kids from the perverted and distorted sexual message of this world by working hard on our own marriages. Good and healthy marriages are keys which unlock God’s blessing and protection on our kids.”
Sorry I was not able to record any of the programs including the Sunday morning sermon. But God’s will, I will do that on my next trip.
My New York trip was not only a success but a blast! I praise God for it! Wow! God never lets our enemy triumph, rejoice and gloat over us! When we are filled with His Word and Spirit, nothing can stand against us! Nothing! Because,
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) ///
