I am sure by now you know that I have a beautiful cat named Kimmem (means, spice). By the way, this cat belongs to my only daughter, Lydia. I am just a care-giver and when money is needed to buy anything for Kimmem, I am the bank Lydia comes to – if you know what I mean.
So, yesterday was Kimmem’s first doctor’s appointment and she received two shots for rabies and for something else, I forgot.
Normally Kimmem is a very active cat who has a mind of her own. If she doesn’t feel like playing, she doesn’t let anyone touch her. Yesterday she was in her best manner. You have no idea how proud I was. She let the veterinarian examine her body. She didn’t even flinch when she took the shots (as I was told by the nurse. Lydia and I didn’t want to watch.)
After we finished everything, the receptionist asked me which day I wanted to schedule for her second round of shots and to get Kimmem spayed (removing her ovaries so she won’t get pregnant.)
I know! That is sad! I don’t want to get her spayed. I mean, it is her natural right to get pregnant and have her kittens, right?
Well, she is an animal. If I don’t get her spayed now, my house will soon be filled with all kinds of kittens. It’s also a danger to her health as a house kitten; she doesn’t go outside, so she won’t be able to mate, leaving her uncomfortable when she’s in heat.
To tell you the truth, I already spotted a young handsome cat who already spotted Kimmem and started coming around my house. I mean, I like him. He is a good looking young cat, with black and white colored fur. And guess what?
I think Kimmem likes him too because she wants to go outside these days. Mind you, she has never been outside before. She is now literally begging me to let her out. My husband let her outside the other day and forgot her outside. Typical of men, right? Well, I did that too. So, now I just go out with her and let her enjoy the outside and bring her in within a minute or two. If Kimmem could speak, believe me, she would have said something like, “I can’t believe this! Let me go outside! Didn’t you see the guy and how he is looking at me? Do you want me to be single for life?”
She is a cat. She cannot say that. And on top of that, I am here thinking to get her spayed in three weeks. If I don’t, as cat owners warned me, she would find a way to go outside and come back being pregnant. Nature does not allow her to just sit there and live without a mate.
Well, just like Kimmem, once puberty hits, young people want to meet people of the opposite sex. Why? That is how God designed us to be so we can be “fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.”
But do you know that there is a striking difference between young man’s and young girl’s sexual natures when it comes to how those natures manifest themselves at an early age? Yes, very different! (These differences will also carry through adulthood.)
As puberty hits, girls want to be with boys of their age because they like the attention they get from them. They find boys to be funny and entertaining, simple and enjoyable. Yes, not all boys are funny but if there is one funny guy among many boys, girls still want to be with those boys because they enjoy the attention. If a boy opens his mouth and says something to a girl like, “Wow! I like your snapchat pic!” Forget it! That girl will continue posting pictures to get more compliments from the same boy and his friends. If he compliments her about her hairdo or outfits, she will totally lose interest to be with her families, especially with her mom who says, “That skirt is too short! I am sure when people see you wearing it, they will say, “She may not even have a mother!.” And Jesus won’t be happy to see you with this skirt. So, take it off!”
Just imagine! That was the same skirt she wore when a boy said, “Wow! You look pretty today!”
Even if he didn’t say whether or not the skirt is the item that makes her look good to him, she wants to keep that skirt as a souvenir.
Well, this is one quick look at a young girl’s early sexual development.
“What about young boys?” you may ask.
I mean, there is nothing as simple as a young boy’s sexuality. He thinks about sex every four minutes and he constantly gets fascinated by a girl’s naked body. That is all! At times, he gets too obsessed with these thoughts that he feels like he is losing his mind.
Isn’t that crazy? I mean, it is, especially from a woman’s point of view.
But God is the designer of both male and females. He designed them both perfectly. The Bible says,
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14
Praise the LORD!
Yes, both male and females are created by God, fearfully and wonderfully, but this doesn’t mean that they can be left to themselves so they can “be fruitful and multiply.” That isn’t the productive route with humans. The honorable human being, who is created in the image and likeness of God, needs guidance and teaching.
Some people foolishly say, “Adam and Eve didn’t need any teaching.” Those questioners forgot that God was Adam and Eve’s Teacher.
Yes, young people need to be guided so they won’t hurt themselves in countless ways. This actually makes a lot of sense especially to us Christians because we believe that the Bible is the manual of life. So, it also helps us to know, understand, and handle our sexuality in a way that is honorable to us and glorifying to God. This is the only way that guarantees us a guilt, fear, regret, despair and depression-free sexual lifestyle.
So, it is crucial, especially for young people, to know their sexual nature so they can protect it from perverted and twisted messages of this dark world: messages from social media and all entertainment industries. And there is no book like the Bible that helps us to know about our nature.
The Bible says,
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Titus 2:11-14
Don’t you love that? I do!
So, it is with joy that I recommend to you my book, “Beyond the Fairy Tale.” This is a book that guides a young girl into her sexuality (touching briefly also on a young man’s sexuality) according the word of God.
This book was born out of my cry before God to help me to teach and mentor my only daughter about her sexuality when she was a little girl. May the name of Jesus Christ be praised!
So, it’s been a joy for me to hear from parents who read my book with their daughters. Oh, you have no idea how I love my book, not because I wrote it but because it was the book I was looking for but couldn’t find in bookstores. And the Spirit of God challenged me, saying, “Why don’t you write down the points that you want to go over with your daughter?”
I loved His idea and wrote down the points that I was so desperate to go over with my daughter, and those points are the ones you read in my book.
Please get this book if you haven’t already.
It saves lives because it has truth in it. And the only truth that can save lives is the truth of God. It sets the captives free from this dark world and the desires of sin-stained fleshly and lustful desires. ///
