I want you to meet Gage Hack. Well, let me tell you how I met him.

My husband (Berhan) and I had to meet someone somewhere in one of Silver Spring hotels. My husband dropped me off at the door and drove off to park his car. While I was waiting for him in the lobby where we planned to meet the person, I was reading John Piper’s daily blog on my phone. There were two big screen TV sets in front of me.

I have seen a young man standing behind the sofa I was sitting on and watching one of the TV shows (football) but I didn’t look at him at all. Then within a minute or so, I saw the young man who was standing behind the sofa sat next me. When I turned around to see him, he said, “Hi.”

I said, “Hello.”

“Do you mind if I share with you something?” He asked.

I really wanted to continue reading, but reluctantly I said, “No, I don’t mind.”

He quickly asked, “What’s your name?”

Again reluctantly, I replied, “Missy.”

I already made him nervous for not be excited to talk to him. So, he quickly said, “Oh, Okay. My name is Gage Hack. I’m a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ and – – -,”

Being excited, I stopped him immediately and asked, “Are you going to witness to me about Christ?”

He said, “Yes!”

“I’m a Christian and I’m a minister and,” before I finished my sentence, Berhan arrived and I told him what happened and he joined us. Then Gage began to tell us how he came to faith, how he gave his life to a ministry, going around and telling young people how important it is for them to stay sexually pure.

Berhan and I were like, “Are you kidding us? This is not a coincidence of any sort; it must be God,” and I started recording him. Gage was introduced to porn at the age of 8 and began experimenting with sex at the age of 13.

But Jesus, hallelujah, came through and rescued him. Now Gage is going around and rescuing others. May God continue blessing him!

If you are a young man like Gage but feel like you are drowning in the sea of sexual temptation and sin, let Gage’s life testimony encourage you. It is possible to live a life that is very far away from sexual immorality. It is possible for a young man to lead a life that is free of lust and porn. How? By the power of Jesus Christ! If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in you. And that power will enable you to say “No” to this dying world and its lustful passions.
