I sometimes ask people to read back to me what I write to know how the message sounds. And most of the time, as if I was a music composer, I feel like they are destroying the message by the way they read it. You see, even if written messages are not songs, they have a melody of their own.
And today I want to read you the message I just posted few hours ago so you can hear the message as well as the seemingly music and melody of the message. ///
If you are hanging with me for sometimes, you sure know that I care about the outside weather. Yeah, I don’t appreciate the weather when it is gloomy, cloudy and snowy. No, no, no! I don’t want those things. I want bright, sunny and breathy weather. And, while living in Maryland, wanting and desiring to have that kind of weather is like wanting to live in a dreamland of Oz.
While I was thinking about the weather this morning, something captured my heart. If I ask you, “What is the opposite of love?” and if you are like me, you will definitely say, “Duh! The opposite of love is hate!”
I know! I said that too when I read a similar question in one of those fantastic books on the topic of love. But I guess there is more to the opposite of love than we think and imagine.
So, before I state the obvious, let me define the word “hate.” One of the dictionary definitions of the word “hate” is this: “to feel intense dislike, or extreme aversion or hostility.”
Well, this feeling of intense dislike and extreme aversion will lead one to commit murder. Hate is like one step away from taking out the gun and shooting the person. I told him about my stand, that I didn’t want to have sex before marriage, assuming that we both were on the same page. Well, after that discussion, our relationship was over. It’s been a month now since he last called me. I see him in church but he doesn’t talk to me or anything. Here is the problem: I can’t stop thinking about him! He is always in my mind. Whenever I think of a Sunday morning, I think of what we all will do in heaven.
All our days in heaven are going to be Sabbath Days! Can you comprehend that? I can’t but I love to think about it! Just seeing Jesus face to face and worshiping Him from eternity to eternity! Wow!
The Bible says, “There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God.” Hebrews 4:9
