I want to share this song with someone who may have this feeling of hopelessness for whatever reason.
I mean, the news itself makes anyone feel hopeless these days, doesn’t it?
But more often than not, we feel hopeless when we put our hope and trust in that which itself is naturally and intrinsically hopeless.
Who hopes in the economy? Who hopes in their savings? Who hopes in this hopeless world? Who hopes in his job, health and possession? Who hopes in the stock market?
These are all destined to change and disappear and those who hope in them will be put to shame.
When all those people who were following Jesus Christ turned around and went on the other way, Jesus asked His Disciples:
“You do not want to go away also, do you?”
And Simon Peter, who tends to always have a quick answer, replied:
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. ” John 6:67-68
Praise God!
Let’s hope in God for we will never be put to shame!
Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is the Eternal Life that we all were originally created for. Because of the fall of Adam, we all lost our eternal life and destined to eternal damnation.
But when we put our hope and trust in Jesus Christ who Himself is Eternal Life, we shall live with Him forever.
“We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.” Psalm 33:20-22 NLT ///
