Thank God for Us!

My Honey-bun, my husband, and I will celebrate our 22nd marriage anniversary this Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Yes, please thank God on our behalf.

If it was for my immature way of handling my wife role in the beginning, this marriage would have been history a long time ago. But because of God’s mercy, grace and favor on both of us, and because of Berhan’s patience and love for me, we made it this far.

May God be praised forever!

You know, the last question I asked Berhan before I decided to tie the knot with him was this:

“Berhan, there is a man that I am very much interested in and I think I may want to marry him.”

Yeah, we women are evil when we put our men to the test, aren’t we? But sometimes, I think and believe that, we need to, don’t you think so? Please, don’t quote me on this madness??.

Guess how my Love responded to my question?

“You know,” he said, “I always want you to be happy. So, if there is a man out there who can make you happier than me, by all means, please go to him and I will be very happy because that is what I desire for you to have in this life.”

I mean, will you be surprised if I say to you, “That was the day I decided to live and die with this man?”

Duh!

A couple days ago, one guy on this page asked me if I had any regrets and I took my time to respond to him because I wanted to give him my honest answer. I thought long and hard to see if I had any regrets in picking up this man for a husband and I couldn’t find any. You have no idea how I thanked God that day because I have never thought about it before and it gave me a chance to count my blessings.

Oh, no. I have no regrets whatsoever. I will marry my Berhan a thousand times if I have to! I put my eyes on him when I was 17 and I am now glad that I always wake up next to him.

God made him for me. Ask him when you see him in person what he thinks about me because I don’t speak for him??.

This truth always warms my heart and soul: My Berhan and I are husband and wife in this life and in eternity, we will be angels for we both believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.” (Matthew 22:30)

Praise God! Jesus in us is our hope and glory. Our hope is hidden in Christ. We always hope but not only in this life but also in the life that is yet to come. Our joy is not locked up in this broken world but in Christ Jesus.

May His name forever be praised!

“If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:19) ///
