“I am” is the name God calls Himself with. When God sent Moses to the Israelites, Moses asked God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
“God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”” (Exodus 3:13-14)
You know, I am now in a place where I am surrounded by so many people. While I am trying to interact with others, one thought keeps coming into my mind. This is not the first time this particular thought came to my mind. So while people here (I assume) are thinking that I’m texting someone, let me quickly leave this two cents worth of advice to newly young married couples.
A4P Guest: I am 27 years old and my girlfriend is 26. I am pursuing medicine, soon to graduate. I plan to pursue further studies to do my PhD in medical research. My girlfriend, who loves Jesus Christ very much and loves life, on the other hand, has absolutely no interest in any form of formal education. She wants to be a businesswoman. Her parents have business and both of her parents have no higher education and she wants to follow their footsteps. I told her that I would pay for her school if she goes to school but she is not interested at all. Missy, please understand me. I want an educated wife, not that I want her to pursue medicine, but at least I want her to have a degree or something. So, after I think about it long and hard, I decided to call it quits. Am I a jerk?
Sexual attraction between two Christian lovers is healthy as long as it is not allowed to overrule their desire to honor God in their lives. When it is allowed to overrule and reject the Word of God, their sexual attraction turns into lust, not love. Lust means wanting to have sex with someone you are not married to (Matthew 5:27-28).
Sin always lies to us. It always hides the truth from us. It says, for example, to unmarried couple, “Even if you two are not married today, you will soon be. So, enjoy each other’s body today so that you will be happy.”
A4P Guest: “I’m a 34-year-old single man. I strive to be sexually pure. I have male friends with whom I pray and discuss personal issues, including our sexual struggles. But I have a question for you. I’ve been praying for God to give me a wife but God is not answering my prayer. I’m not in any addiction or sinful lifestyle. Why do you think that God is not answering my prayer?”Continue reading “God is not Answering My Prayer”→
