No one can fight against sin unless they are born of God.

“I will stop viewing porn,” is a good decision but the question is, can you put that decision to work? Probably for few days, but not for long.

Many people want to stop watching porn. If tears could have saved a person from porn, many would have been saved from porn addiction because they have cried their eyes out, thinking that God would see their tears and say, “Okay! That is enough! I will take that desire out of you.”

Are you kidding me?

God never works that way.

You see, when Jesus says, “You must be born again” John 3:7, He is literally saying, “You must be born of above.”

When we are born of above, we are able to fight against sin and this sinful world because our new nature equips us not only to love God and the things of God but also to hate sin and fight against it until we take our last breath. And through it all, God wants to raise warriors and fighters in Christ, not crying babies.

That means these newly born from above people have to get used to be in war with sin 24/7, putting the armor of God, all the time.

Listen:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness , and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17 NASB

Please notice!

We only have ONE armor to make offenses, (all other armors are to make defenses) and that ONE armor is the WORD OF GOD.

How can then one save himself/herself from porn neglecting the very weapon God has given him/her to defeat sin and this world?

“A prophet told me” is the new norm to fight against the devil and sin.

My friend, that is idol worship! It has nothing to do with the word and truth of God. The devil laughs at you!

Rather, run to the word of God!

Even Jesus fought against the devil’s schemes saying, “It is written,” and quoting Scriptures. How much more do we, you and I, need to do that so that we “will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” ///
