“Flee” – – – “Pursue”

Most young Christian men today have one common enemy that made them weak and vulnerable for all sorts of evil.

Do you know their ONE enemy?

Please don’t say, “The devil!” Because he is not!

And don’t say, “Their sexual nature!” Because their sexual nature is not their enemy but their best buddy if they know it very well.

The one common enemy that is destroying young Christian men today is IGNORANCE!

Most Christian men have no clue who they are. They have never given that much thought as to what they want from this life and for what purpose they are here. They have no clue who they are in Christ. Some think that they know who they are in Christ just because they know many prophets. They say, “I can call “prophet so and so” now and talk to him.” That is where their spiritual maturity starts and ends. And they have no clue about their sexuality. All they want is for their sexuality, or sexual desire, to leave them alone until they get married. The problem is, there is no such kind of thing on this side of heaven. So, they fight from the wrong side against the very nature God has given them for the greater purpose. When they cannot win, they think that God agrees with their sinful sexual lifestyles. Read the story of Samson (Judges 13-16).

The Bible says: “ Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22

Fleeing from evil desires while pursuing righteousness – the only pattern to fight and secure sexual sanity.

If a young man only flees from porn and other filthy stuff without pursing righteousness with other brothers, he is  only making himself unguarded for all sorts of sexual temptations and traps.

The two books that help young men to flee from sexual sin while pursuing righteousness are:

  1. “The Sexual Man,” – the landmark study of men and sex, by Dr. Archibald Hart
  2. “Every Man’s Battle,” subtitle: “Winning the War on Sexual Temptation One Victory at a Time” by Stephen Arterburn & Fred Stoeker ///
