Awwww! My Facebook friends, how can  thank you enough!

Thank you so much for all your Happy Ethiopian New Year and Happy Birthday wishes!  Appreciate each and every one of you who Liked, Shared and Commented on my birthday post.

You see, working on social media is kinda tricky. Sometimes I feel like I am working hard for no avail for nobody is listening/reading. But now I know that at least 10 of you are listening to me and reading what I am writing on the Appeal for Purity Facebook page/website.

Well, I guess, you are more than 10. I praise God for each one of you! Thank you!

Now you are encouraging me to work even harder so I may benefit most of you in a small way. May God help me. And please continue praying for me so I may do not my will but His will who has called me into this ministry.

Let me share with you today the one message that the Holy Spirit has been pouring into my heart since yesterday.

The Bible says, “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:10 NASB

Our accuser, the devil, who accuses us all day and night has been thrown down!

Wow! Did you see that? He’s thrown down!

However, most of us, I dare to say “all of us,” destroy our beautiful day, the day God has made and given to us so we rejoice and be glad in it, with sadness because we give our ears to our accuser, the devil, and we agree with him.

Do you know why we usually agree with him, why we give our ears to him?

Because he is not accusing us for the things that we haven’t done, but for the things we are very much guilty of.

He has the list of all our sins, one by one, without missing even one of them. Then we lose our ground, we become speechless and sometimes breathless because we can’t defend ourselves.

But listen to this: Oh, praise God for the word of God!

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:13-14

I mean, DID YOU READ THAT!

Jesus Christ didn’t die on the cross for fun, my friend. He died an excruciating death on the cross for all our sins.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1

Amen!

There is more:

“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:33-34

Amen! Jesus Christ, standing at the right hand of God, intercedes for us, 24/7.

Some people may see this as a license to sin more. Oh, no! The one who can see this truth clearly actually runs from sin as fast as he can because the truth itself empowers him to do just that.

But other than Satan, there is one other enemy that condemns us. Do you know who that is?

That is “SELF.”

We usually find it easy to look over someone else’s sin but when it comes to us, some of us struggle to forgive ourselves. We say to ourselves, “You are useless. You cannot call yourself a Christian. You shouldn’t even go to church. You shouldn’t pray because God cannot accept you. Look at others! Others are able to walk perfectly with Christ, but you, you are hopeless!”

Yeah! This is the other enemy we need to put down. Since self has been with us since day one, it knows what had transpired in our lives. It brings a sin we committed 5 or 10 years ago and us cringe in shame and guilt.

Well, guess what this is? This is Pride! Self is always full of pride. It wants to sanctify itself without Christ. It wants to be the Christ. It wants to declare its freedom from sin outside the cross of Christ.

Humility says to SELF: “SELF, there is only one Christ, one Messiah. And apart from Him, you have no hope. Run to Him and be safe! No safety apart from Him.”

So, let’s make it a habit to preach to ourselves. The word of God that we use to defeat the devil, let’s use the same armor to silence “self.”

Let’s declare our confidence in Christ. Let’s enjoy the freedom we have in Him (Galatians 5:1, 13).
