If our thinking patters don’t change, our destructive lifestyles don’t change either.
As our thinking patterns don’t get formed in a day, they don’t get changed in a day. It is a process to change them up to the point of changing our lifestyles.
One baby step a day is the rule of the thumb when it comes to changing our thinking patterns. And there is nothing as powerful as the word of God to change, not only our thinking patters but also our perspectives in life in general. What used to have so much values and worth before our eyes, after the Word of God shapes our thought patterns, we start seeing most life issues through the lenses of the truth of God.
Then we learn to hold on to that which has a lasting effect, impact and an eternal value while we let go off the seasonal and temporal pleasures of this material world for the sake of permanent and lasting joy and rest. Our focus shifts from the “now” to the “then.”
Listen what the Bible says: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
But, if reading the word of God is the last thing in our “to do” list, we get stuck in our destructive thinking patterns which lead us to nowhere but into a perpetually defeated life. ///
