Some passages of the Bible are so straightforward and clear that they need no explanations.
From all kinds of such passages, this one stands out first for me:
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God; and that no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also told you before and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.”
~ 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8
So, when someone comes and asks me, “I want to know the will of God for my life,” I ask them like this:
“Do you know the already expressed will of God for your life in Scriptures?”
Some people are so “addicted” to “God said this and that to you” kind of messages that reading the Bible and knowing the will of God for their lives become so boring and laborious.
But do you know that we all have that kind of desire, for God to speak to us, calling our names like, “Missy, you are My child. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
And the root of this desire is nothing but evil. Yes it is! This is a desire that comes out of a prideful heart.
And as the word of God says, God resists the proud (1 Peter 5:5-6). There is no way for God to speak to the proud.
However God always loves to speak to the humble.
Listen:
“”For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
Isaiah 66:2
Wow! Did you see that? “Trembles at My word.”
My friend, let me be that voice in your heart and mind then today that says:
“The Bible is the voice of God. It contains everything that God wants to say to you. You need no extra message more than the Bible.” ///
