This morning I read 2 Chronicles 12 and you have no idea how this chapter spoke to my heart.
Look at this verse:
“Then the prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam [the King of Judah, he is King Solomon’s son] and to the leaders of Judah who had assembled in Jerusalem for fear of Shishak, and he said to them, “This is what the Lord says, ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.’”” Verse 5
You know, when God takes us as His own, He means serious business.
When we abandon God, disregard our spiritual devotion, see corporate worship as a concert or some kind of social gathering and run away from reading, studying and meditating the word of God, God, because He loves us, full of mercy and grace, He abandons us to “Shishak” who helps us find our way back to “our first love.”
So, if “Shishak” is messing up your life or marriage, take this post as a wake up call.
God is eager to hear your voice in prayer and worship. God is missing your face. The word of God is calling you back. Repent. Once you go back to God, you will see “Shishak” leaving “your territory,” not because of your “loud rebuke,” but because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in your territory.
Yeah, “Shishak” is sent to you by God. So, rebuking him won’t get rid of him. ///
P. S. If you want to know more about Shishak, how powerful he is, read 2 Chronicles, or just chapter 12.
