God is our Shepherd means He watches over us 24/7.
If God is our Shepherd, we can safely conclude that we are His sheep.
If we are His Sheep, we need to act like sheep. Have you ever seen a sheep worrying about anything?
Sheep only have one anxious thought, a thought that makes the sheep die of fear. You know what that thought is?
“What if my shepherd somehow abandoned me?“
But if they know their shepherd’s faithfulness, sheep have no worry in life. What takes all their worries and anxious thoughts is seeing their shepherd in front of them.
Praise God!
Jesus Christ is the Shepherd of His people, people who trust in Him. All His sheep have to do is this: Fix their eyes on Him! When they do that, fear runs away from them. Any trap their enemies hides in their way cannot catch them.
If you are Christ’s sheep, fix your eyes on Him.
King David said:
“My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.”
Psalm 25:15 ESV
Let’s not take off our eyes from Him unless we want to sink in the sea of sin, fear, anxious thoughts and all kinds of emotional highs and lows (like Peter Matthew 14). ///
