Seek Him

When we seek God, we find the essence of our existence which is seeking and finding the One who created us.

Finding God shows us the way of life. Seeking Him is the way of life.

When we stop seeking Him, guess what we run after?

We run after everything else but God; and everything we run after will totally dig our graves.

I know, many preachers today preach how to squeeze “the good things” of life from God. They claim that they figured out all the tactics and strategies that will guarantee them wealth, health and happiness. What is their tool to get them all these? The tool is called god, or “jesus christ.”

So, all who have absolutely no relationship with the Bible or people, who are trained to read and understand the Bible only into two ways:- to bound Satan and to get all the wealth, health and happiness, will march after them.

The God of the Bible has nothing to do with this.

Jesus said,

“He[Jesus] replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.” Luke 21:8

“For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.” Matthew 24:5

Jesus Christ came not to make us health, wealthy and happy but to wash us off all our sins and to re-create us so we can be citizens of heaven.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB

Amen!

So, God created us in Adam but we all died in sin as our fore-parents sinned against God. Then God, by His abundant mercy and grace, He recreated us in the Last Adam, Jesus Christ, and He made us His own.

We are God’s in Christ Jesus. Our soul belongs to Him who created her.

When we know who we belong to, we seek Him. Seeking Him is like seeking the purpose and meaning of our existence. Seeking God and finding Him is the source of our joy and contentment.

That is why Jesus said,

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

We stop seeking God when we don’t see value in Him. When we don’t value God and His word, we totally stop believing and trusting in God. When we stop believing in God, we trust everything else, whatever we see and hear and we start living in fear. Not only we start living in fear, we live in sin.

Why?

Unbelief is the source of all rebelliousness.

Most people today claim that they are Christians and they believe in God and they love God but when it comes to seeking God through prayer and reading/studying the Word of God, they say, “Oh, well, I am a bit busy these days. But I love God.”

If our confession does not match our lifestyle, our confession is nothing but a collection of words.

The word of God says,

“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. . . As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:19, 26

Very convicting, isn’t it?

My friends, let’s seek God. Let’s seek Him because He said, He promised to be found by those who seek Him.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, ” Jeremiah 29:11-14a

What more promises do we need other than this?

Think about it? When we pray, He says, He listens. When we seek Him with all our hearts, He said, He will be found by us.

My! My! My!

Then why don’t seek Him?

He is the only one who can save us from “false jesuses.” He is the only One who can rescue us from heretics, false doctrines. God is the only One who can lead us into life.

Let’s seek Him. ///
