The news gets worse by the hour. Now the air itself seems to whisper terror.

It feels like someone speeding on the highway has completely lost control of the car that is our world.

But when I close my bedroom door behind me and spread my prayer mat and fall on my face before God, everything feels normal again.

The Spirit of God comforts my soul saying,

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

That in short means, “Don’t panic! I, your God, am in control.”

Wow! What an unexplainable joy this truth creates in my soul! Amazing!

Yes, God is in control. He is on His throne.

Nothing is surprising to God.

God knows and controls everything. Nothing is outside of His radar.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.” Isaiah 45:5-7
