Marriage is created by God. God is the Author of marriage.
If we believe that, then we need to believe that it is the word of God who can tell us what marriage is and how marriage should be done.
And one of the characters of marriage, one man and one woman one-flesh relationship, is that it has to be done in a real life. The two people, the wife and the husband, have to live under the same roof. There is no science to this for those who follow Jesus Christ.
Dating on Facebook, getting married on Viber and doing marriage on WhatsApp may work for those who don’t believe in God and in the word of God because their marriage status meets their moral values and principles as to what a marriage should be.
The Bible says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” (Hebrews 13:4)
For example, the above verse of the Bible means nothing to those who are not in Christ but for us who are in Christ, it means everything.
Here in America, there is what is called “open marriage.” Open marriage is “a marriage or relationship in which both partners agree that each may have sexual relations with others.” That means the husband and the wife have the right to sleep around with people they want to and when they feel like coming together, they meet and have sex. Otherwise, their marriage has no bearing on their “personal” preferences and choices.
And can you imagine if I am writing and making this video for couples who are in an open marriage situation?
Unthinkable!
The word of God says, “Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” (1 Corinthians 7:5)
Notice the phrase “Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time” – the instruction is written for married couples who are living together, under the same roof. It is not written for people who are married and living in different continents.
The word of God does not recognize a long-distance, online marriages. That means, people who do marriage online cannot claim any of God’s promises into their marriage and family because they are outside the word of God.
Please, say “NO” to any form of invitation to make marriage online, living in different continents.
God declares: “Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.” (1 Samuel 2:30b)
Honoring God can only mean obeying the word of God, striving to live and do marriage according to the word. ///
