A4P Guest: I got married a couple years ago. My husband and I are Christians. My husband is a nice man and everything. I was in love with him but these days, I don’t feel any attraction towards him and it is bothering me. I don’t like to come home from work so I won’t be alone with him. Would you please help me?
A4P: Were you in love with him when you married him?
A4P Guest: Yes, I was.
A4P: When is the last time that you had an intimate time with him?
A4P Guest: Probably three or four months ago.
A4P: Did he ever ask you why?
A4P Guest: He did many times but I told him to leave me alone. Now we don’t even talk.
A4P: You didn’t want to sit with him to sort things out?
A4P Guest: No! I just want to go out of this marriage. I feel like I am in a cage, suffocated. But I know that God hates divorce. But I don’t know what to do. I cry a lot and I stay at work after hours and I don’t know for how long I can do that. I know, this is the devil attacking me and my marriage.
A4P: I believe so. But before we jump into conclusion, let’s do some work. You see, Satan often works in two ways: He suggests things and ideas to you, such as, “Are you sure this man is the man God created for you? What about you ex-boyfriend who loved you more than this man? You know he is still single.” Or, Satan acts in the same manner as vultures. Vultures don’t come around unless they see something “dead.” So, if you let your heart wander after another man, for example, as you chat with your ex-boyfriend on social media, or compare your man with the men you watch in movies and reality shows, you make a way for Satan to finish the project for you.
So, see where this weak side is in your life. And your spiritual life might probably be dead at this point. If so, get busy rebuilding the LORD’s “altar” in your heart. Don’t listen to yourself nor to the devil at this point. Remember, marriage is God’s agenda. Anything that comes against your one-flesh relationship with your husband is from the devil, from demons. Focus on the word of God. The word of God is what you need to listen to and the word of God says this: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”” Mark 10:7-9
Whatever is causing you to feel this way has to be put to death right now. Don’t let it spend a day with you.
If any trace of depression is lurking into your life, it may make you feel negatively towards people, including your husband. If that is the case, it is good to visit your primarily care physician. But rebuilding the Lord’s altar in your heart will demolition any network of the devil that may cause the depression. That means, you can kill two birds with one stone just by you returning to the Shepherd and Overseer of your soul. May God help you! ///
