A4P Guest: I came to your page recently and I read some of your articles. I noticed you mostly use the Epistles to make your points. You tend to say, as Paul said, or Peter said. But aren’t Peter and Paul mere men like you and I? How can we take what they said as an absolute truth while we have the Word of Jesus Christ? I find it very hard to accept your points whenever you use the words of Peter or Paul to make your point.
A4P: You know what I want right now? Well, I want God to give five hundred fingers so that all of them type as fast as they can so that they all write everything I want to say. But I only have ten fingers and I only have few minutes left before I run to my next errand. So, let me say very few things here.
Beloved, the Word of God, the Bible is written by forty men and none of them ascended to heaven as an angelical being. They all were human beings like you and I, with weaknesses and strengths.
But they all wrote it led by the Spirit of God; the Spirit of Jesus!
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Timothy 3:16-17
That means whatever you read in the Bible has only one Author and His Name is Jesus Christ!
Everything Jesus said was written by men. Do you know why? So that we can understand the message of God! If the Word of God was written by angels in an angelical language, you and I would have been lost beyond reach. But God inspired men so that they can communicate the message in a way you and I can understand it.
Because it is to our level doesn’t mean that it is a human opinion but because it is written to our level for us to understand it whether we are first graders or with four PhDs, it makes it THE ONLY ONE IN ITS KIND!
And one more thing here: Because God communicated His message to our level, we have no excuse to say, “Sorry, it is too complicated for me.”
Precious, when it comes to the message of the Bible, there is no “Paul’s opinion” or “Peter’s opinion.” It is God’s “breath” so that you and I can live in it. The Bible says, “man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Deuteronomy 8:3 (and Matthew 4:4).
Don’t let the secular or the post-modernization thinking blind you! Soak yourself in the Word and you shall see it clearly that every Word you find in the Bible is actually directly from God!
Beloved, if that was not the case, we are better off reading other books than the Bible. There are amazing philosophers who write in a way which makes you forget yourself and the rest of the world and get you into the philosophy of life and this world. The only problem they have is this: You and I have to have at least two PhDs to appreciate and understand their writings.
Oh, we don’t need any degree or PhD to understand the message of God; the message of the Bible. By reading the Bible, God made it easy for us to get into the heart of God. All we need is to “accept it” so that it will make sense to us.
Did anybody say to you, “Did you accept Jesus Christ as your personal LORD and Savior?”
Do you know why they said that? Well, the Bible says this: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20
I don’t know if you are trying to understand and comprehend the Word of God. You and I will never get to that level total understanding of the Word of God in its entirety. All we are asked is to open the door of our hearts and accept the Word as it is. We are only asked to let Christ in to our lives and follow Him so that it will be well with us! That is all!
I don’t think I will ever stop. Let me stop here but not without giving you one more verse: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrew 4:12
No man’s opinion is found in the Bible! The forty people who wrote the Bible are like trains who transported the Message from God to you and I. ///
