I am going to share with you today a very short word but before I do that, let me share with you one passage of the Bible. From this passage, I am only interested in the last part of verse 35b:
“They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes, which is across the lake from Galilee. When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me!” For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.
Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him. And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.
A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and he gave them permission. When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.” Luke 8:26-35
The people “found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.”
My friends, the only way we can be in our right minds is when we choose to sit at the feet of Jesus instead of wandering around.
It is very sad for me to read emails from young people that read something like this: “I went to one conference and the speaker told me that God will bless me soon with a husband. Then another speaker in another occasion told me specifically whom I going to marry, pointing to the man. Then I contacted the man but he refused to accept the prophesy from the man of God. I am still waiting on God to change his heart and accept me as a wife.”
This kind of message literally breaks my heart! I sometimes get very emotional and cry out of frustration.
My friends, if you forget everything I so far said on this page (via writing or video message), please don’t forget this:
Jesus Christ is the Word of God and the Word of God is Jesus Christ Himself!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
If we see our Bibles as one of the books we have in our homes, we are missing Jesus, who is the Way and the Truth and the Life. The word of God is all we need. The Holy Spirit leads our lives but only if we have the word of God in our hearts.
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” Romans 8:14
Jesus is the Anointed One! Through Him, we who follow Him are anointed (1 John 2:27). There is no “very anointed one” among us. We have different spiritual gifts so we edify and build each other so the Bride of Jesus Christ will be ready when He comes to take her.
Jesus anointed His bride. We are parts and parcels of the body of Christ as the Bible says:
“There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink. So the body is not made up of just one part. It has many parts.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Oh, young people, please sit at the feet of Jesus and you don’t need to wander from one “anointed” man/woman to another. When you sit at the feet of Jesus, you will be “in your right mind” and you know how to rest in Him.
Yes, none of us can be in our right minds unless we teach ourselves to sit at the feet of Jesus Christ and listen to Him speak to us through His word. Oh, His word speaks if we only listen. ///
