The word of God, the promise of God is the only anchor we have and hold on to. I mean, think about it.
Listen:
“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, held for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly; and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the perverted conduct of unscrupulous people (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt passion, and despise authority.” 2 Peter 2:4-10
Isn’t that a comforting passage to read, “the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial,”
“God knows” means, my friend, everything will align and move to bring His will and purpose, which is to rescue us.
That is why we do not ask God “How?” because He knows!
Listen:
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30
My! My! My! Did you see that?
“God knows” means He won’t just do you good, my friend, if you are His, He won’t let you go until He glorifies you.
Then the question is, are you His?
You know that You are His by this:
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever follows His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says that he remains in Him ought, himself also, walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:3-6
Very convicting, isn’t it? It is for me. ///
