The Bible says:
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
When you read this verse, do you feel like the word of God is giving us one of its good suggestions or is the word commanding us to rejoice?
Silly me for asking that kind of question knowing that God never suggests anything to His creatures.
I mean, can you imagine God saying to you:
“I suggest you stop chatting with this man on social media at this late hour. It is too risky for you to do!” Or,
“I suggest you stop watching this show. It won’t lead you to the right place.”
Funny, isn’t it?
No, God does not suggest but commands.
So, my friend, if you are in Christ, the word of God commands you to rejoice!
But don’t forget this: It does not say, “Find something to rejoice and laugh about and just enjoy life!”
It says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
The Key phrase there is “in the Lord!”
That means, it doesn’t matter where we are in life, we can rejoice “in the Lord.”
Hmm!
Think about it! ///
