Like everybody else, I too cancelled my flight to Ethiopia a few minutes ago. I was supposed to be in Addis at the beginning of next week.
I was very excited to see my mom and to see my beautiful country, Ethiopia, and my beautiful people, Ethiopians. But it’s okay. Let the will of God be done!
President Trump tweeted a few hours ago saying:
“It is my great honor to declare Sunday, March 15th as a National Day of Prayer. We are a Country that, throughout our history, has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these….”
Ufff! How I love to see a president of this great nation, America, declaring a National Day of Prayer! God bless President Donald Trump and God bless America!
When something as big as coronavirus sits in front of us, the only place we can go to is to God!
Why?
Because power does not belong to the coronavirus, but to GOD!
“Once God has spoken;
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God” Psalm 62:11
Praise God!
It is God who determines how much power coronavirus can have. It is God who determines everything. Nothing, I will say it again, NOTHING in heaven or earth can happen without the knowledge and permission of God. And God “works all things after the counsel of His will” (Ephesian 1:11).
This is called the Sovereignty of God! This truth alone gives me peace and rest.
The Late R. C. Sproul said, “If there is one maverick [independent] molecule in all the universe, then God is not sovereign. And if God is not sovereign, He is not God.” ///
