“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? – – – You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? – – – You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. . . For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” James 2:14, 19-20, 24, 26

Wow! Demons believe what I believe too?

Yes, they do! And they shudder in terror knowing that God exists.

But if I love God, my faith in God should be different from demons, don’t you think so?

In what way?

My faith should be alive, not dead!

If one is living in sin, he/she cannot say that they are believers in Christ; one whose faith is alive cannot live in sin.

We all stumble and fall in many ways (James 3:2), but LIVING IN SIN cannot be our story.

Many are walking around with dead faith thinking that they are believers in Christ. When you talk to them, you find out that they lead a sinful life.

When they know that they lead a sinful life, they say, “You know, I am weak. And I don’t think anybody is perfect, except God. But I love God and I do everything to help others in every way I can. I do attend our church Bible study now via Zoom. ”

What are they saying?

They are saying, “I am a Christian and my god is ME. I live according to the book that is written by me according to my fleshly desires and wants. I go to church and I attend Bible study via Zoom.”

At this point, your brain spins in all directions trying to figure out what you’re hearing.

Is this the outcome of the lock-down?

I don’t know!

But this is what I believe: Stress, pressures in life, squeezes out what had been hidden in our hearts and minds; our genuine faith in God or our faith in anything but God. ///
