What is the benefit of saying, “I believe in God,” while living in sin?

“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? – – – You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? – – – You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. . . For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” James 2:14, 19-20, 24, 26

Peace With God

Jesus said,

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27 NASB

Don’t you love that? I do!

One of the main identifying characters of “peace” this world gives is fluctuating. It goes up and down. It comes and goes, depending solely on what we feel at the moment.

Satan’s number one goal is to convince us that God is not totally honest with us; that He is hiding something good from us. In short, Satan wants to persuade us that God is not good to us.
