Even if we know for sure that the relationship has to end for the good of both parties, coming to terms with the end is usually devastating due to the attachment that was developed. For you, loving Christ is not a matter of religion but a matter of life.
So, continue choosing life as you let the guy go.
Down the road, you will be grateful that you did as you enjoy life with the man who chooses life, Christ, as you do.
