Keep Eve In the Grave

One Saturday afternoon, I bought a beautiful dress and couldn’t wait to show it to my husband. So after we put the kids to bed, I said “Okay, now let me show you my beautiful dress I bought today.”

So I wore the dress and said “Okay, here we go.”

I thought he would say “Oh, My, you look beautiful.” But he kept quiet for one full minute which felt like one hour for me. Continue reading Keep Eve In the Grave

A Role of A Father from A Family – – – A Generation

When our daughter was a little girl, around three or four years old, the most exciting day for her was anytime I braided her hair differently than usual. She would look at herself in the mirror, and while admiring her beauty, ask: “Do you think my dad will recognize me?” I always responded, “I doubt it.”

One day, she waited for her dad as if it was nobody’s business. Every now and then, she looked out of the window to see if her dad had come back from work. So, as usual, I called my husband and gave him some heads up. A few minutes later, he arrived at home and asked, “Who is this cute girl here? And where is my daughter? ”

Oh, my! She danced, jumped up and down, fell on the floor, laughed hysterically and said, “My gosh! Mom, can you believe that! My dad didn’t recognize me!”

Appeal for Purity Ministries’ Two Year Anniversary

Appeal for Purity (A4P) will celebrate its two year anniversary this coming October 31, 2015.

A4P was launched on Oct. 31, 2013. What a day of choice to launch a ministry such as A4P!

Believe me, I didn’t plan it. My husband and I actually realized it after a month or so – that the ministry was actually launched on the Halloween Day.

“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” (1 John 3:8b)

Hallelujah! May the Name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, alone be praised! Continue reading Appeal for Purity Ministries’ Two Year Anniversary

The Boundary Line

God created sex only in the context of marriage. The boundary line of beautiful, healthy, fulfilling and satisfying sex is called marriage. Outside the blessed union of one man and one woman, sex is a wildfire.

“Can a man scoop fire into his lap
without his clothes being burned?
Can a man walk on hot coals
without his feet being scorched?
So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife;
no one who touches her will go unpunished.” (Proverbs 6:27-29) Continue reading The Boundary Line

Clear The Stage

This is the song we sang today in our family Bible study time. It blessed me so much that I thought it would be nice to share it with you all.

The song convicted me more than the topic we raised in our Bible study. Our topic was the prominence of idol worship in churches.

It is true that we can worship church worship services and Gospel songs while we neglect God and His Words. Wow! Scary, isn’t it?

Here is the song, “Clear the Stage” by Jimmy Needham, the first stanza and the chorus (make sure you watch this song’s official YouTube video): Continue reading Clear The Stage

The Word of God to Meditate On

I just shared with my friends the Word of God I was meditating on since this morning and I thought it would be nice to share it with you too. So, here we go:

“But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” (Psalm 3:3)

Whenever I meditate on the Word of God, I tend to look for the exact dictionary definitions of words. So, I looked for the definitions of the words “shield” and “glory.” Continue reading The Word of God to Meditate On

“I Dated My Girl Online for Three Years Now”

A4P Guest: I lived outside of Ethiopia since 2000. Last time I went back home was in 2011. I met this amazing girl at that time and fell in love with her instantly. We couldn’t spend much time together since I had to come back in short period of time. Before I went for vacation, I told my friends that I was going to meet my future wife and told them that I wouldn’t touch her except shaking her hands and that was exactly what I did. It’s been more than three years now and we are still together. We are actually more in love now than back then. I’m planning to bring her down here anytime soon. My eyes are dying to see her. I missed her so much. My question is when she arrives here, she only has me. I don’t want to sin against God and I’m a bit worried. I don’t even know if I can kiss her before we get married. I’ve already made my mind to propose to her. I just want to know if we can start kissing after I propose to her. What do you think about that? I don’t see your posts

A4P Guest: I “Liked” Appeal for Purity’s Facebook page long time ago but I don’t see its status update on my news feed. I have to always come to the page to read or see the updates. Why don’t I receive A4P’s posts on my news feed after I liked the page or do I need to do something else than liking the page?

A4P: This is becoming a very common question coming to us from Appeal for Purity (A4P) supporters. I don’t know if you know this but when we post something, it only reaches to less than 2% of the people who liked the page. Even this post won’t make it to 98% of people who liked this page. If you happen to read this, this is what you can do so that you can receive all our posts in a daily basis:

1. Open the Appeal for Purity Facebook page
2. Click the downward arrow of the “Liked” button you see on your right hand side on the A4P’s Facebook cover page.
3. From the drop-down choice, click “Get Notification” and click “See First”

If you do the above three simple steps, you will be the first one to see A4P’s status update on your news feed. ///
