It is easy to teach or sit and listen to the message of biblical sexual purity. But living out the message is a completely different ball game. Taking into consideration our own natural sinful bend and all the hidden and unexpected curves and turns of life, we sometimes get tempted to say, “Forget it! This is not for me; maybe it is written only for few but not for me.”
But the Word of God is given to us who are “new creatures” in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17); to us who are sharing God’s divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4), to us who are the temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).
Let’s not agree with the devil who always whispers into our ear saying, “You can’t stop this. You can’t break off from this. You are beyond anyone’s reach. Your case is sealed and closed.”
Wow! It is true that we can’t break our chains. But God says, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) Our case would have been sealed and closed if it wasn’t for Jesus who had broken the seal once and for all! He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Through Him we can do all things (Philippians 4:13) including breaking free from the chains of long-standing, life-threatening addictions and habits.
Beloved, you can’t break your chain, but Christ can! Your case is not sealed! Don’t quit! You are not reading this by accident. Listen to me please: Your struggles don’t define you, but the Word of God does. You are a warrior! You are God’s own child! You are unstoppable! The power that is in you is the power which raised Christ up from death (Romans 8:11). Jesus said, “I’m the resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25). Jesus, the Life and the Resurrection, lives in you. Get up and start to fight for your sexual freedom first knowing who you are and what you have in Christ. ///
