I just shared with my friends the Word of God I was meditating on since this morning and I thought it would be nice to share it with you too. So, here we go:
“But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” (Psalm 3:3)
Whenever I meditate on the Word of God, I tend to look for the exact dictionary definitions of words. So, I looked for the definitions of the words “shield” and “glory.”
Shield: “a broad piece of armor, varying widely in form and size, carried apart from the body, usually on the left arm, as a defense against swords, lances, arrows, etc.”
Glory: “something that is a source of honor, fame, or admiration; a distinguished ornament or an object of pride:”
Our Lord Jesus Christ shields us from the tip of our toes to the top of our heads so that no weapons formed against us will never prevail (Isaiah 54:17). He is our only Defense (Ephesians 6:17). Jesus is the Source of our honor, fame and admiration. He is the Object of our pride; He is the only One who lifts our heads high. He is our Glory. Hallelujah! ///
