A4P Guest: Did you hear the news yesterday about the US Supreme Court Decision about marriage?
A4P: Yes, I did!
A4P Guest: Can you say something about it?
A4P: I am not sure what you are asking me. Are you asking me whether I am for or against the decision?
A4P Guest: I know you only believe in a marriage between one man and one woman. No, that is not what I’m asking you. I’m just asking what your take is on the issue, like the implication the Supreme Court decision has on us, Christians.
A4P: That is a very broad question and I don’t want to sound a politician by going in detail here. But I personally see the whole thing this way, (in short): The Bible never teaches us that the whole world will receive Jesus Christ as its personal Lord and Savior. And the Bible never teaches us that salvation comes to a nation as a whole. It says, whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish (John 3:16); means it is an individual decision; not a nationwide decision.
Marriage between one man and one woman is not man’s original idea but God’s. But for one to accept and believe this biblical truth, he/she has to believe in God. If they don’t believe in God, what benefit do they get from upholding the idea of marriage between one man and one woman? It doesn’t make any difference for them to marry a man or a woman or both because one can’t be justified and sanctified by being a heterosexual or a homosexual; but by being in Christ.
This is the Bible verse that comes to my mind when I heard the news (Jesus is speaking here):
“Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” Revelation 22:11
And guess what He said after He said the above? He said this: “Look, I’m coming soon!”
Amen! Jesus is coming soon to take those who believe in Him!
So, I don’t let yesterday’s news or any news take my focus away from the main thing, which is to tell the whole world the Good News, the revealed saving grace of Jesus Christ! Yes, I focus on that to see if anyone hears me and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and be saved from eternal separation from God, the only Source of life.
Let me leave you with the following, my favorite passage of the Bible:
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men (homosexuals) nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. AND THAT IS WHAT SOME OF YOU WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Guess which verse from the above passage is my favorite one?
Well, if you know my entire story, if you read everything I so far wrote and posted about my past life on this page, you sure know my favorite verse. My favorite verse is verse 11: “AND THAT IS WHAT SOME OF YOU WERE.”
Yes, I was a candidate to be thrown in hell being guilty of every sin listed on verse 9 & 10; but now, because of the saving grace of Jesus Christ, I became a candidate for heaven. So, it is my prayer and desire for everyone, homosexuals and heterosexuals, to hear the Gospel, the Good News about Jesus Christ, and believe in Christ so that they too will be candidates for heaven, to be with Jesus forever and ever. And this is my daily prayer that we who claim to be “Christians” live the life we are called to live; so that others don’t miss Christ in us. It is also my daily prayer that we, who profess to believe in Jesus Christ, tell the Good News to others in love and respect. ///
