Sunday is the first day of the week. I know, for a long time, I thought Monday was the first day of the week. Some people say that Saturday is actually the first day of the week since Saturday is actually the original Sabbath according to Jews.
Well, I think this is one of the issues we shouldn’t divide over. And when people try to argue saying Saturday or Sunday is the Sabbath, I usually say, “Whatever works for you is fine with me.” I mean after all Sabbath “was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” (Mark 2:27)
The point is to take one day of the week to rest, focus and gaze on our God so that the rest of our week will be blessed. I am not saying here that we worship God and pray on the Sabbath Day of our choice and do whatever we want to do for the rest of the week. Not all!
All I’m saying is, it is always good to dedicate the first of everything to God for the rest of “the batch” will be blessed.
So, since Sunday is the Sabbath for most of us, it is good to start this brand new week in the house of God with other believers; worshiping Him who is eager to bless us in every way possible.
Me and my house, we sure are heading to the house of God to enjoy His presence with others. ///
