Wow! The previous title and note were posted by mistake. I apologize. I switched two videos. It is okay, I guess, since the video doesn’t have any mistake with the content.
But my message was actually about judging ourselves before we judge our spouses based on this passage of Scripture:
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:3-5)
And I shared this message in the marriage context. It is always good to pray and ask God to show us our part in the issue before we decide to talk to our spouses about the issue that is bothering us in our marriages; because sometimes we may be the ones who are the cause of the problem, not our spouses. We are the guilty ones, not our spouses. And if we are, it is good to own our part and strive to fix it before we bother our spouses. Sometimes it is hard for us to discern our own errors and mistakes but we always find it easy to discern our spouse’s problem or character flaws:
“Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
Amen! So, let’s adapt this way of handling all of our marital issues, by first letting God search us because “But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.” (Psalm 19:12)
We need the help of the Spirit of God to find and correct mistakes and errors.
Phew! This was the message that was supposed to go with the above video, not “Rewarding our children” but that video, as you can imagine, is coming up soon. Thank you guys for watching my videos. May God bless you! ///
