Well, by spending time with the Holy Spirit in prayer, and by reading and studying the Bible. Notice I didn’t say, “reading” but “reading and studying the Bible.” Continue reading Redeem Your Day!→
Just because two consenting people have sex doesn’t mean that they are married.
Some people think that once two people have sex outside marriage, they are considered as married because “they are one.” Unfortunately these same people use the following Bible verses to back up their points: Exodus 22:16-17; Deuteronomy 22:13-22 and 1 Corinthians 6:16.
Praise God! I’m back to Maryland after I spent the weekend in Edmonton, Canada.
As I always do, I want to thank people who’ve worked hard in making this conference a success. Four Edmonton area local churches have a fellowship called “Evangelical Churches Fellowship in Edmonton, Canada.” There are many people who are involved in this, pastors, elders and ministers of all these four churches.
Righteousness is something we are called to pursue but lust is something we are called to stay away from.
Sometimes it seems as though leading a sexually pure life (not viewing porn and being engaged in solo-sex, not experimenting on sex and getting lost in the lust of this world) is something given to a few as a gift from God. But the Bible says, those who runaway from sexual immorality will stay away from it; and those who purse sexual purity will find it.
If you live in or closer to Edmonton, Canada, come to the Evangelical Churches Fellowship conference that starts tonight and worship God with us.
Today it will be for young people who can’t understand Amharic and there will also be another program on Sunday for the same group of folks. For the rest of the program, Saturday and Sunday, it will be in Amharic.
It is time to touch on the topic of alcohol and secular music. Right?
Well, “Do you think drinking alcohol is a sin” is a question that comes to our inbox as often as “Is it a sin for me to listen to a secular music about nature, love and what not and can you answer me according to the Bible?”
With much respect and admiration to those who spent their time on these topics to point out why it is okay to listen or not to listen to secular music; or why we need to totally avoid alcohol or how drinking one bottle of beer or a glass of wine here and there for the purpose of recreation is okay, I personally would like to say that I don’t really want to spend any of my time in dealing with these topics, and I will tell you why. Parenting is not an easy task, especially today. Just like everybody else, I also struggle to raise my kids. I want my kids to turn out to be God-fearing and other respecting citizens. Continue reading Values are Caught, Not Taught→
A4P Guest: “I’m 15-year old girl. My dad thinks that “What the fudge” is a bad expression to use. He read it on one of the text messages I exchanged with my friends and saw WTF! and asked me what that abbreviation stands for. I told him that it stands for “What the fudge!” but he still said that I shouldn’t use it. Don’t you think that my dad is being too legalist?”
A4P: No, I don’t think you dad is too legalist because using phrases such as this one, I believe, is not only bad, but inappropriate, especially for those who profess to follow Christ.
