Did I ever tell you how much I love my three kids? Oh, my! How can I forget that? I love all my three blessings very much. They indeed are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3). I love and enjoy them very much.
You see, I spend most of my time working on serious stuff and sometimes laughing can be a very rare thing to find in my world.
The thing is I love to laugh and I love to hear jokes (“clean jokes”, I may add) and my kids, all of them are very funny. Well, the funniest of all is my little one. But there is no way for you to know that unless you live with him.
So, the other day, I was sitting in the kitchen working on my laptop. My older son came and ate snack and left his plate on the island table. When I got up to get a glass of water, I found his plate; and I “nicely” said, “How many times do I have to tell you guys to clean up after yourself?” He said, “Sorry mom. I forgot.”
Within few minutes, my daughter came in and ate fruit and left the kitchen leaving everything on the table. I said the same thing to her and she said, the same thing, “Sorry mom. I forgot.” (This is the most famous statement in this house)
Then within few minutes my little one came and drank a cup of milk and left the cup on the table. Those of you mothers with teenagers out there know that I’m not joking here. That’s life with teenagers. They are good at helping me in the house but cleaning up every cup and plate they use, oh no, that is the language they can’t start speaking.
In the middle of all these, my Berhan was in the kitchen doing his own thing. When I found my little one’s empty milk cup on the table, I said to Berhan, “Berhan, that is it! I’m done. Take these three kids out of this house!”
My little one said with a calm voice, “Mom, say please.” That made my day! ///
