A4P Guest: Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions?
A4P: Explain to me what that means.
A4P Guest: You know how people make a commitment (a resolution) to change their lives on New Year’s Day?
A4P: Yeah.
A4P Guest: Do you think it works?
A4P: I personally don’t try it; but as I’ve read, it doesn’t work for many. I don’t think there is magic to making your resolution on New Year’s Day. As long as you are committed to what you are planning to change in your life, I believe it should work whether you start on New Year’s Day or any other day.
For example, start today and if you are not able to stick with your plan, you leave the experience with a good lesson to do it all over again but in a different way. But, why are you asking me this question?
A4P Guest: I want to make a change in my life and I want to start on the first day of 2017.
A4P: May I ask what kind of change you want to make in your life?
A4P Guest: I want to lead a sexually pure life.
A4P: And you want to start that kind of life on January 1, 2017? What about today, December 29, and tomorrow, December 30 & 31? If you can’t lead a sexually pure life today and tomorrow, what makes you think that you can do it on January 1st? I don’t mean to discourage you or anything, but I don’t want you to believe in a fairy tale. Whatever you plan to do on January 1st, do it today and get to your goal today because tomorrow may not be yours. ///
