Jesus said, “no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.” (John 6:65, NASB)
I’ve heard many speculations and heated discussions around this particular verse.
“You know, how can a loving God grant salvation in Christ to this person but not to that person?”
This two-pound brain of ours can’t figure out certain things in the word of God. What it can do when it can’t understand something is to accept the truth as it is, by faith.
“God is love and He can’t call this person to Christ but not that person.”
Then how are we going to explain, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” (Romans 9:13)
Very tricky, isn’t it?
When we try to make God look good to the carnal mind, we compromise the truth.
“Even Mother Theresa won’t do such kind of things” kind of explanation is trying to make God presentable and likable to this world.
The sovereignty of God is very offensive to this world as well as to the flesh. We all want some kind of control or part in the game of life.
But the truth of the matter is God is who He said He is.
Sure we all agree with that; but what we struggle to agree on is to the fact that God is the creator of all.
“God created the universe and gave it to Adam and everything we see now is happening because of Adam.”
What’s wrong with this statement?
I mean, before the fall, this earth was perfect and life was perfect too. After the fall, everything starts to die, turning into dust, right?
Hmm! This kind of teaching is the one that is leading us to all kinds of heresies.
“All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
But He does according to His will in the host of heaven
And among the inhabitants of earth;
And no one can ward off His hand
Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’” Daniel 4:35 ///
