God said to Adam and Eve, “you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:17)

God pretty much said to them, if you disobey Me, you will certainly die. After Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, did they die?

Well, after they ate the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve built a house and had kids, Abel and Cain.

That is like, buying a newly built house, leasing a brand new car directly from the dealer; and throwing one of their kids’ birthday party at their backyard.

I mean, the Word said, “you will certainly die” but we see them doing life as if nothing happened. They didn’t drop and die.

Well, that is the thing. According to God, death means not living for God and the things of God; and the opposite of death, which is life, is living every minute of our life for God and the things of God.

When our life brings God glory and praise, God calls that “living”. According to God, death is when the life of a person stops bringing glory, fame and praise to the Name of Jesus Christ!

The Bible says, “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:5-8)

We all were dead (in spirit) but praise God that God gave us life through Jesus Christ (He awakened our spirit from death). Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b)

Jesus came so that we live life to the fullest. That fullness of life declares the praises of Jesus Christ who called us from darkness into His wonderful life (1 Peter 2:9). ///
