I mean, some of these gift boxes must me mine?, I guess☹️– if not, my husband and my kids will be in big trouble tomorrow morning.
And we women don’t appreciate big gift boxes, do we?
NOPE! We love those small boxes with some valuable and expensive gifts in them. I mean, yeah, we are expensive, so we don’t want anybody to value us less, do we??
But I have to know my value first, then see if anyone is able to value me correctly by giving me a gift that matches my value?
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; YOU WERE BOUGHT AT A PRICE. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – capitalization is mine)
Yes, I have value. God bought me with the precious blood of Jesus Christ and made me His. So, is there any gift for me in this world that matches my value and worth?
Simply put, NOTHING!
Do you think I get excited if I receive $1 as a gift if I have billion dollars in my saving bank account?
To be honest, I may because I am not created to be fully satisfied by this material world.

Yes, indeed! We are made for another world, and I call that world “IN CHRIST.” (The Book of Ephesians)
Until we find ourselves “in Christ,” we run and labor to find or receive that gift which we hope will, at last, satisfy us fully.
No, there is nothing in this world to meet our deepest needs and desires. Every gift box has nothing but dirt in them!
The only precious gift that can satisfy you and me is the gift that God had given to us two thousand years ago. That gift is is called Jesus Christ.
So, when we open our gifts tomorrow morning, let us all remember to enjoy and treasure the moments God is going to give us with our families, but at the same time, let us all remember to approach the Christmas tree with this mindset: I am fully satisfied in Christ. ///
