Wearing new clothes, having a new haircut, changing a church or job, meeting new people, moving to a new city whatnot won’t really make us better Christians.

I naturally love to receive advice from people I respect the most because I saw in many instances how good advice saved my life. Going to counseling is my thing! I, long time ago, decided to myself saying: Never, ever I go through life alone! I seek counseling!
A4P Guest: I’m married and have a one-year old son. I used to consider myself blessed to have the most peaceful marriage ever until my husband’s mother came from Ethiopia a year ago to help us with our first child.
A4P: What happened?
A4P Guest: My mother-in-law is a Christian, she loves God, prays a lot and all. But she pretty much wants to be the woman of the house. She criticizes my cooking, the way I handle my son and more. Her intention might be good but her action irritates me so much that I sometimes lock myself up in my bedroom for the whole day. I feel like leaving or ask her to leave the house.
Some young girls get confused why their boyfriends don’t propose to them even after dating them for a year or two.
They complain, “I thought he was waiting for the Valentine’s Day but that day just passed; and I thought he would propose to me in the beginning of summer but that too passed. What should I need to do?”
I always ask:
“Why don’t you propose to him?” 🙂 Just kidding! – I wouldn’t say that in a million years! What? A woman proposing to a man? Are you serious?
“The sinfulness of man, and His distance from God by reason thereof, being so great, as that we can have no access into His presence without a mediator; and there being none in heaven or earth appointed to, or fit for, that glorious work but Christ alone, we are to pray in no other name but His only.”
No matter what I’m going through, God, who has so much confidence in His abounding mercy and grace, keeps on saying, “Leave the past behind you and move on to the next! Don’t get stuck!”
However, for me to move on, I need to close the previous chapter well because the way I choose to close the previous chapter determines the success of my moving on to the next, otherwise the past hinders me. Continue reading The Devil Blocked My Way→
