The Manna!

Listening to gospel songs and watching miracles on TV or YouTube cannot replace our daily personal devotional time, the time we spend with the Holy Spirit and the word of God, in studying the word and praying the word.

Anything that replaces our devotion is called our “god,” or, biblically it is called “idol.” Continue reading The Manna!

It Blinds!

The one major consequence of sin is this: It blinds!

Whenever the issue of sin comes up, many people think about what they had done in the past and they secretly say to themselves: “Yes, I am that sinner who committed those heinous sins.”

But according to the teaching of the Scripture, there is only one sin every man is inflected with, and that sin makes one a sinner. Continue reading It Blinds!

Sorry But No Selfie With You!

Corinth was one of the cities that Paul traveled to. From his two letters which are included in the canon as 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, we can tell that Paul invested so much of his energy and time on the church of Corinth. We learn from the Book Acts that, after he established churches in Macedonia — Philippi, Thessalonica, and Berea (Acts 16-17), Paul traveled to Corinth for the first time in his second missionary journey. We also learn that Paul not only established a church in Corinth but stayed there for two years. So, the church of Corinth is like Paul’s child. He loves the people of God in Corinth. Not a Kind Of Man I Wanted To Marry

A4P Guest: I think I am married with the man you described in your post yesterday.

A4P: Uh-oh! What kind of man did you read in my post yesterday?

A4P Guest: My husband grew up with his mother and two of his younger sisters. And reading through your post yesterday, I thought for a second that you were writing about my husband.

A4P: Phew! But I was not, praise God! Continue reading Not a Kind Of Man I Wanted To Marry

A Boyfriend or A Husband?

A4P Guest: I am a born again Christian. And I’m seeing a born again Christian man I met through a common friend. We both are 27-year olds – he is three months older than me. I love him very much and he loves me too. After we started dating, he joined my church so we see each other at least three or four times a week. We get along just fine but sometimes I feel like he competes with me.

A4P: What does that mean? Give me a specific example so I understand what exactly you’re saying. Continue reading A Boyfriend or A Husband?

Your God Is Too Small

Somebody told me a title of a book called “Your God is too Small” by J. B. Phillips. You have no idea how excited I am to read it but not now since I have some books that I need to read and catch up.

For some reason though, the title of the book triggered in my mind many questions, questions such as, Is my God too small? What does that even mean? How big is my God? How would I know?

If you already read the book, forgive me for saying anything about the book I haven’t read but I think it is a book on concepts we humans make of God by our own imaginations and carnal and sinful natures and how those concepts are tooooooo far away from the truth.
