While I was tossing and turning around to fall asleep yesterday night, all of a sudden I remember something.
I remember that I forgot to mention one piece of information in yesterday’s post. Yes, I wrote about my experience with alcohol but I forgot to mention that-that night was my very first and last experience with alcohol. From that night on, alcohol had never touched my mouth.
But is missing that piece of information going to change anything from the story? Does it change a thing about the fact that I was lost in the river of my sin? Not at all! Whether as an alcoholic or a person with one night experience with alcohol, I was lost and destined to go to hell.
Have you ever heard a girl saying, “I’m a little bit pregnant?” No, you’ve not because there is no such kind of thing. A girl can only be pregnant or not pregnant; she can’t be both at the same time. And there is no little pregnancy or too much pregnancy.
In the same way, there is no, “I was (am) a little bit lost” or “I was a little bit saved.” We are saved or we are lost. We can’t be both. It is all or none.
What is the message then? We can only come from being lost and destined to go to hell to being saved and destined to go to heaven not by the number of good things we did but by accepting the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross; by accepting Him as our Lord and Savior. It doesn’t matter who we were and what we did yesterday. If we come to Christ today, we will be saved from eternal damnation. So, let’s run to Him who can save us from hell, the devil, this world and above all from our own fleshly desires and passions. Let’s run to Him today while we have the chance to spare our soul from hell because now, not later nor tomorrow, but now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:1-2) ///
