“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Accepting who we are is the most spiritual thing that we can do to ourselves. When we can’t accept who we are, we struggle to love ourselves (healthy love). When we don’t accept and love ourselves, we can’t accept and love others.
The word of God says, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)
But if we struggle to love ourselves, how can we love our neighbor? We can’t! But remember, we shouldn’t love our sin and all our destructive habits and behaviors. Let’s put all of these habits and behaviors to death: “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5) and embrace, accept and love who we are; the way God created and fashioned us! ///
