A Quick Reply to a Comment Regarding my Book

A4P Guest: Why do we need another book to read other than the Bible? Are you saying that this book is a replacement to the Bible? Is this book for those who are in sexual addiction? Anyone who has a sexual problem can find healing through the Word of God, the Bible. If they pray hard, we have a God who hears and answers our prayers; He will answer their prayers and heal them. The Name of Jesus breaks all spiritual bondage. We don’t need another book other than the Bible. Why are you asking others to buy your book? Why don’t you encourage them to buy the Bible and read it cover to cover so that the Word of God will break their bondage?”

A4P: Since this comment is regarding my book, “Beyond the Fairy Tale” which is “My Baby”, I can easily be emotional and miss the point that needs to be addressed here. So, let me first say a quick prayer.

Okay, I think I’m ready to address only the issue that needs to be address without mixing it up with my emotion:

First, “Are you saying that this book is a replacement of the Bible?”

Nowhere in my book or on this page or anywhere else have I referred my book as a “replacement” of the Bible! God forbid for me to say that!

Second, “Is this book for those who are in sexual addiction?”

My book, “Beyond the Fairy Tale,” is written mainly to young people (focusing on woman’s sexuality) to show them the beauty of their God-given sexuality, how they can fight for it so that the devil won’t have a foothold in their life and more. This book helps those who may be in a full blown sexual addiction to see a glimpse of why the grip of sexual addiction is too hard on them; but this book can’t be used as an instrument to come out of a long standing sexual addiction.

I’m still praying for God to give me a good biblically founded insight about sexual addiction. When I’m ready and God says, “Go for it,” I sure will write another book focusing only on sexual addiction.

Third, “people with sexual problem and struggle, if they pray hard, God will answer their prayers and break their bondage. The Name of Jesus breaks any bondage.”

Wow! So, those born-again Christians who fasted and prayed for years and years to be healed from sexual addiction were praying for another god other than the God who hears and answers the prayers of His children? Did they pray in the name of other god than the name of Jesus Christ for them to find themselves in the same ditch again and again?

Well, if I try to address this comment here, I will write 500 pages which is one fifth of what I’ve already written and posted on this page. So, I kindly ask everyone who might have similar questions to read on this page to find answers to their questions.

Fourth, “Why are you asking others to buy your book?”

Well, so that they can read and know what I know to be true about our sexuality according to the Word of God. This is called “sharing!”

Fifth, “Why don’t you encourage others to buy the Bible and read it cover to cover so that the Word of God will break their bondage?”

Wow! What can I say to this, except to say, please read my entire messages on this page and read my book too! Then you may paraphrase your question like this: Why are you encouraging others to read the Bible a lot?”

I guess I addressed the comment to the best of my knowledge. But let me say this: It is always good for all of us to know that we can’t be knowledgeable in every area of life. There are things in life that we don’t know about. So, it is good to leave those things we don’t know anything about to those who may have some level of exposure and knowledge to it. That is why it is not a good idea to drop our comments on every post we may come across. Sometimes it is good to say, “Maybe there is something I don’t know about here; so let me be quiet.”

In addition, if we want to criticize a book, it is good to read it first so that we know what we are talking about. Otherwise our own little knowing makes us look “not good”; especially on social media. Commenting about something we have little or no idea about doesn’t make us look spiritually matured but spiritually ignorant when in fact we might be matured and devoted spiritual people.

In closing, I won’t be tired of encouraging all of you to buy my book. If you didn’t order my book yet, here is the link: www.appealforpurity.org/storefront

Again, my book is not in Ethiopia yet. If and when it gets there, we will let you know on this page. So, stay tuned. ///
