Sure we all fight with our spouses. But when we fight, we have to make sure that we fight in the right way, biblical way.
The one spiritual meaning of “Fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12) in the marriage context is this: Fight to bring victory to your marriage.
Ignoring or giving each other the silent treatment won’t do us any good to our marriages.
We need to deal with all conflicts and fights with love and grace today. If the issue needs to be kept for another day, we need to guard our hearts from evil (holding on to grudges, entertaining all those negative and evil thoughts, harboring rage, thoughts of revenge and more).
Otherwise we give Satan permission to come in and destroy our marriages and families.
““In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” (Ephesians 4:26-27)
Healthy communication and knowing and applying healthy ways of resolving conflicts close the door for the devil to come into our marriages and families. ///
