In And Through Us

Freedom to be Like Jesus

God set you and I free from the bondage of sin to reveal His Son, Jesus Christ, in and through us.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

The above kind of lifestyle is not only true of Paul but everyone who is in Christ.

If we invite Christ to be the Lord and King of our lives, we become dead for the things of this fallen world. His presence in us kills the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, and makes us alive for the things of God (1 John 2:16; Galatians 5:24; Romans 8:10).

This is not a one day deal but a lifetime process (sanctification). As we discipline ourselves to the daily reading and meditation of Scripture, prayer and seeking God with others, we let God reveal His Son Jesus Christ in and through us.

If so, the question we each have to always wrestle with is this: “Do others see more of Jesus in me today than yesterday?”

Remember one important thing here though: “Others” in the above statement does not refer to people who don’t know us; rather people who know us well. We should not let ourselves be encouraged or discouraged by what people who hardly know us say about us. Why? Simply put, they don’t know us. ///
