All the “don’ts” in the Bible are there to make all the “do’s” the ultimate source of joy, peace, rest, pleasure and contentment.
Let’s see one quick example regarding sexual fulfillment:
Do’s: “May your fountain be blessed,
and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
A loving doe, a graceful deer—
may her breasts satisfy you ALWAYS,
may you ever be INTOXICATED with her love.”
(Proverbs 5:18-19 – capitalization is mine)
Don’t: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
(Matthew 5:28-29)
Here, the don’t is “Don’t lust after another woman,” and the do is “be intoxicate with your own wife.”
“Be intoxicated with her love” literally means “be mentally or emotionally drunk” with her love.
For a man to be sexually fulfilled (intoxicated) with his wife, he has to follow through all “the don’ts” such us not lusting after another woman. While he is lusting after another woman, there is no way for him to be “drunk” with his wife’s love and continued to be satisfied with her breast. Period! No way around this!
Unruly person in a movie or fiction book such as “Fifty Shades of Grey” may be presented as a sexually fulfilled person but that is a movie/fiction. In a weekly drama shows, we may watch “sexually promiscuous” people enjoying their lives to the fullest, but my dearest, that is drama, fantasy, not real! Don’t try that at home!
Always remember this: All “the don’ts” in the Bible are not there to limit or minimize “the do’s,” which comprise our joy, pleasure, peace, rest, sexual fulfillment and contentment, but to maximize them. ///
