Dating, Courting and Proposing on Facebook

A4P Guest: I am in love with a girl I’ve known since high school. We were just friends back then, but now, we each found out that we are in love. We study the Bible online once a day and we talk about everything under the sun. I feel very connected to her and I think this is THE ONE! We both want to honor God in our dating as well as marriage life. So, do you advise us to take a premarital class now or wait until I propose to her and start the wedding process?

A4P: (Thank you for giving me permission to share our conversation on the page! Bless you!)

Congratulations for finding THE ONE! I am very happy for you! Yeah, sure, I advise you to propose to her first before you guys take a premarital class. Continue reading Dating, Courting and Proposing on Facebook

What are you sowing?

Sometimes in the middle of counseling, I ask this question, “So, who do you want to be in the next 10 years or so?”

The response I always get is something like, “I want to be a person who loves and serves God and others with everything I am and with everything I have.”

So, my follow-up question is, “So, what are you doing today to get there then?”

Why am I asking that? Well, for all the counseling sessions to be effective and fruitful, the person I am counseling primarily needs to know that there is what is called “the law of sowing and reaping.” Knowing this fact will help the person change his/her course or direction of life for good!

Law of sowing and reaping will never, ever, go away from this life. We reap what we sow. Continue reading What are you sowing?

Wow! Nicodemus didn’t talk about that!

One day, Nicodemus came to Jesus at night with a word of encouragement. Most Jews during that time were pushing, shuffling and rejecting Jesus and His teachings. But Nicodemus came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” (John 3:2)

If I were next to Jesus as one of His Disciples, I would have first hugged Nicodemus and said, “Bravo! Spot on, Nicodemus! While others denied that Jesus came from God, here you are saying the exact thing Jesus has been trying to tell everyone. Good for you, brother! Take five! Well, you are one of us then! Come and join us for dinner!”

Well, Jesus didn’t respond to Nicodemus like that, not even close. This was Jesus’ reply: “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” (John 3:3) Continue reading Wow! Nicodemus didn’t talk about that!

Help! I’m going to lose my opportunity to get married!

A4P Guest: I’m a 26 year old girl. I’ve been seeing this guy I met in my church since last May. He recently have asked me to have sex with him and I made it clear for him that I would keep my virginity until marriage. When I said that to him, he chuckled and said, “It’s not common to find a girl like you, virgin at 26. It feels very weird.” After we had this conversation, he hasn’t been calling me that much. Missy, I so far lost three men over this same issue; they all have asked me to have sex and I’ve said no and they all have walked away. I’m now going to lose this guy the one I adore. What do you advise me to do? Why do these men ask me to have sex with them while they themselves are born-again Christians and know that sex before marriage is a sin?

A44: Well, after reading your question, I can’t help but think why you want to remain a virgin until marriage. So, can you tell me why? Continue reading Help! I’m going to lose my opportunity to get married!

We had a Great Weekend!

IMG_0305

I praise the Name of Jesus Christ for helping me be on my feet again!

Thank you to all of you who heard about my illness and prayed for me! God is a merciful God! Devil may try to attack me; but you know what excites me the most? In what kind of speed God always rushes in and turns things around and makes me stand in victory at the presence of my enemy!

So, this past weekend, once again, I learned that no purpose of God can be thwarted. (Job 42:2) Continue reading We had a Great Weekend!

A Word to Meditate While we go to church!

“Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:

He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory.” (1 Timothy 3:14-16) Continue reading A Word to Meditate While we go to church!
