Not a Sprint but a Marathon

“Christianity is not a sprint but a marathon.”

Wow, did you hear that? How true that is!

While a sprint is a very fast, quick and short race, a marathon is a footrace of 26 miles 385 yards.

Christianity is a long journey, and a combination of different marathons. When we think we finished it all, got it all covered, to our surprise we find ourselves standing at the beginning of the race in some areas of life. Why? Because each area of life has its own race. He Once Again Captured Our Attention

Whenever we find moments to be alone, my husband and I spend most of those moments together talking about anything and everything under the sun. As a woman, you have no idea how much I treasure those moments.

We laugh with our silly jokes and try to catch up with our personal life if we miss any; but sometimes we both find ourselves sitting down and talking at a special presence of God. We undoubtedly sense His presence and know that those special moments are divinely calculated and designed by God. And at the end of those moments, we usually cry or end up kneeling down before God with awe and worship. Continue reading He Once Again Captured Our Attention

Abba, Father.

What a joy, what a privilege it is to call the all knowing God, the powerful God, the God who created the heavens and the earth, who called this world into existence; who is the Author of life, Abba, Abba Father!

“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)

“Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” (Galatians 4:6)

Appeal for Purity Two Year Anniversary!

Time indeed flies, doesn’t it?

Well, guess what, Appeal for Purity is going to celebrate its two year anniversary on Saturday, October 31, 2015.

This page was launched on the Halloween day, Thursday, October 31, 2013. We didn’t launch it on that day intentionally. I guess it was divinely orchestrated to thwart the work of the devil. May the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be praised forever!

So, this is how we are planning to celebrate the Appeal for Purity Ministries’ two year anniversary.

If you benefited from this ministry in one way or the other and want to see more of this ministry in the future in different social medias, let’s us hear from you starting today.

How do we want to hear from you? Well, drop us a video clip, in the message box, of you telling us how you benefited from this ministry. Or, you can voice recorder your message or you can drop us a note, in writing, telling us how God ministered to you through this ministry.

Once we have enough number of these clips/notes, God willing, we put them all together and make a short video and release it on the anniversary day.

We love to hear from all of you who want to see this ministry flourishing and reaching out to millions. ///

The Word of God

The Bible says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

If we separate our life from the Word of God, we can’t continue believing in God because faith comes from hearing, hearing by the Word of God. If we don’t hear the Word of God, we hear something else and that something else not only takes away our faith but it also dries up our passion and desire to live for the glory of God.

Did you read, study and meditate the Word of God today? ///

If Necessary Use Words

“Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”

Who said it?

St. Francis of Assisi, not Mother Teresa.

I made a mistake on the video clip I uploaded yesterday where I said “as Mother Teresa said.” It was a mistake and forgive me for that mistake. It was St. Francis who said, “Preach the Gospel – – – ” not Mother Teresa. But the message was not a mistake and I hope and pray that you didn’t miss the message.

The message I was struggling to deliver in that video clip was this: Continue reading If Necessary Use Words

It is always good to be HOME!

Praise the LORD! I’m back home after I had a wonderful three days long conference at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church (EEC) in Toronto, Canada.

As I always do, I would like to leave a “Thank you” note here on this page to those who gave me this great opportunity and made my stay in Toronto an enjoyable and memorable one.

I first would like to say “Thank you” to Pastor Alemayehu and his beloved wife, for inviting me over to minister and worship God with teens, young adults, singles and married folks of the Toronto Ethiopian Evangelical church. Thank you! May the LORD continue using you for His glory! Continue reading It is always good to be HOME!

Sexual purity starts at the eye

When we know how to take control of our eyes, we can be in a good shape to take control of our actions; what our body parts choose to do. If we lose the battle at our eyes, we lose the battle that is waging against our whole body and we get stuck in all sorts of destructive habits and lifestyles.

Jesus said, ““The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.  But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”                   (Matthew 6:22-23) ///

A Woman Came as a Solution

“So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.” Genesis 2:20

And God solved this problem by taking a rib out of Adam, and made Eve and brought her to Adam. Because of the original design, she belongs to only one man; in a covenant relationship of marriage of one man and one woman – just like the first wedding in the Garden of Eden – Genesis 2:21-25 ///
