“Is it right for us Christians to celebrate Valentine’s Day?”

My Berhan proposed to me on Valentine’s Day. He invited me to dinner and he hardly said a word throughout the dinner. I mean that was not something unusual. My Berhan normally listens to me while I talk none-stop. So I didn’t feel anything different. Well, after the fact, yes, I realized that he went to the rest room and washed his hand and face at least twice. He was planning to give me the ring in a drink and he changed his mind at the last minute and bought something. After dinner, he took out a beautiful pen gift box and said, “I thought you like this pen.”

If you are a girl and the man you are expecting to propose to you gets to his jacket pocket and takes out a pen and gives you as a Valentine’s Day gift, what would you feel? Continue reading “Is it right for us Christians to celebrate Valentine’s Day?”

Sexual sin is different from other sins – Part II

Here is the rest of the message.

“Subscribe” to the Appeal for Purity YouTube channel before you leave the channel.

I listened to this message more than three times. It blessed me more than I can ever express.

I know I am not that good with language and someone with an excellent language skill can explain the concept better than me. But if you focus on the major points, take down the Bible verses I mention in the middle of the message and wrestle with each one of them during your personal devotion, God will reveal to you many more things. “Revelation Road”

Our kids went to school today after a weeklong break, thanks to winter storm Jonas!

So, to make our last day of this unexpected break a memorable one, my family and I spent yesterday night watching Part 2 of a movie called “Revelation Road”. We watched Part 1 last Thursday night.

Did we buy these movies? No, we didn’t. We “subscribed” to Pureflix Entertainment; a Christian film production company. If you subscribe to their service, they give you one month free subscription and if you like it, you will continue with them for $7.99 a month (just like Netflix – the difference is Pureflix only streams Christian movies where Christian moral values are respected and honored). I think I see myself continuing with them because these Christian movies are life changing. Continue reading “Revelation Road”

“Homosexuality is not a behavior”

Dr. Rosaria Champagne Butterfield, a PhD in English literature, was a tenured professor at Syracuse University, openly practicing homosexuality and promoting feminism.

Dr. Butterfiled is now a homeschooling mom, a pastor’s wife, a part-time author and an occasional public speaker.

I was dumbfounded by the following four profound points she raised: Continue reading “Homosexuality is not a behavior”

Fool me once

“Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 50 thousand times, you are the weather man.”

Makes you smile and think twice, doesn’t it? Nobody fools you more than once unless you let them, and after you let them fool you multiple times, going around and blaming them for fooling you makes you look even more foolish.

You definitely teach others how to treat you. So, before you blame others for what they did to you, ask yourself this important question:

“Have I taught this person to treat me this way?”

A Worship Song that melted my heart this morning

“You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.” By Josh Groban

Without Christ being on my side, I realize that I can’t even get up from my bed, let alone be able to stand on mountains or walk on stormy seas.
