The Shortest Sermon

“Womanhood” was the title of my teaching I prepared to deliver last Sunday in the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Atlanta. But as I told you last time, God had another message for His people and He took over the program.

Oh, let Him take all our future programs! I love it when He does!

So, the Sunday morning service sermon was interview! Pastor Tolossa interviewed me about my ministry and the pervasive nature of sexual immorality. After that, he gave me the mic and asked me to say few things for four or five minutes.

I thought I spoke for two minutes. Well, I guess I spoke for almost 12 minutes. I watched this program yesterday and find it to be very concise but to the point. I loved it. I am sure you will love it too. Listen to it carefully so that you won’t miss the main message! ///

The User’s Manual

There was a two hour school delay today because of the snow. So, I just came back home after I dropped off my kids to school.

While I was driving my youngest kids to school, I noticed the annoying warning yellow light being flashing on my dashboard. The sign looks like a screwdriver. I didn’t know what it was but I saw this light in the past, probably three times. But every time I see those different lights flashing on, I tell my hubby saying “I think there is something wrong with my car.”

My sons always ask me, “What is this light mom?” Continue reading The User’s Manual

Question about “Let Your Child Live” Post

Question about “Let Your Child Live” Post

A4P: A4P Guest: I have a question on your post, “Let Your Child Live.” That kind of post puts judgment on those who have already done abortion. You see, some people didn’t do it knowing that it is the act of murdering a human being. Some were forced to do it because of different reasons. You have no idea what the woman went through. So, please, don’t write that kind of post again. We are called to comfort others, not judge. We are called to tell others about God’s forgiveness not to judge them. Continue reading Question about “Let Your Child Live” Post

Let Your Child Live!

Abortion stops a heartbeat of a human being God created in His own image and likeness; a human being God said, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.” Jeremiah 1:5.

Don’t put your baby to death! Don’t let them take away your child from you. It is the devil who says, “Get rid of the baby so that your life will be better.”

It is a lie! Your life won’t be better after you shade innocent blood. You may make a mistake and sleep outside marriage but God doesn’t make a mistake. It is God who brings a human being to this planet with a specific plan and purpose; not sex. Let your child live! ///

Take Comfort in these Words

It is tough to see on the news this morning those Egyptian Christian men being on their knees to be – beheaded by the ISIS. Sitting here in the breakfast hall of the hotel I’m in and watching this heinous act broke my heart into smaller pieces.

I was about to take one bite of my muffin when I watched the news and it was kind of hard to take another bite.

Then I thought about these verses:

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.” Psalm 20:7-8 Continue reading Take Comfort in these Words

Winner of the Valentine’s Day Game

Wow! Guys! Thank you so much for waiting for me this long! I was expecting somebody to inbox me saying, “When are you going to announce the winner?”

Well, I’m in the middle of being everywhere if you know what I mean.

I had a wonderful time at the Atlanta Pastor Tolossa church. It was kind of a miracle today for all of us. Oh, I love when the Holy Spirit takes over the service and does His own thing. I love Him! I love Him! I love Him! Continue reading Winner of the Valentine’s Day Game

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you from Atlanta!

Yes, today, I’m in Atlanta and please don’t ask me about the weather because Maryland and Atlanta are twin sisters; so it is needless to say that I don’t like the weather.

As I promised, here I’m to share with you all one of my favorite wedding pictures I treasure very much!

IMG_3633

Well, if you look at the picture, I looked like I posed for it but I was not. As you can see my hubby’s right hand is on my waist to lead me to another spot to take another picture. And when the groom stole a look at his bride, the cameraman caught him red-handed. I love it!

Today, I’m in Atlanta and my Berhan is in Maryland but we decided to celebrate our own Valentine’s Day at one of the Family Life Today ministry “Weekend to Remember” three days getaways for married couples in Baltimore, MD (familylife.com). Yeap, I can’t wait to be alone with my Love, without our lovely kids. Hush!

Even if we plan to celebrate the Valentine’s Day next week, I still want to leave a happy Valentine’s note to my Valentine here on this page, may I? I hope you don’t mind.

My Berhan, Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Baby! You are always my Valentine! I love you so much! I look forward to celebrating many more Valentine Days with you. Thank you for pursuing me, loving me and staying married with me, lol, even if I sometimes get on your last nerve. Thank you for putting up with me, my Berhan. You know my Love, I am more in love with you today than I was eighteen years ago because you know how to love me in and out of season. What can I say except to say, may the LORD help me be the kind of wife He wants me to be to you! I sure can’t wait to come home to find myself in your strong arms, Baby! Love you more than you can ever know. Happy Valentine’s Day! ///

P. S. Guys, don’t forget to upload your wedding picture too! The A4P page will be open for four hours so that you can upload one of your wedding pictures. You never know; you may win the game! If you don’t know what I’m talking about here, read my Wednesday and Friday posts and learn about the Valentine’s Day Game.

The song which made my day!

It is called “He knows my name” by Francesca Battistelli

“I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh”

Oh, do you know God knows your name?

Yes, He does!

When I was in the lowest place of my life, I struggled with this idea of not being known by God. Even if I knew God is all knowing, I struggled to accept the fact that God knew me personally. I didn’t know that He cared about me or whatever was going on in my life.

What about you? Do you struggle like that? Do you say to yourself something like, “God doesn’t care about me. I’m insignificant.”

I’m here to tell you that God gave His only Son to die on the Cross for you to show you that He cares about you! You are very famous in His eyes! You don’t need to feel it or don’t need to shake like a leaf to know that He cares about you. You don’t need anybody to prophesy over you saying that God is with you or God cares about you. Christ’s Cross is enough to tell you that fact (1 Corinthians 6:20).

Because you and I are famous in our Father’s eyes, we always have hope in Him no matter where we are in the spectrum of our life. ///

The Valentine’s Day Game!

Yeap! We are going to run a wonderful game on the Valentine’s Day.

I know, I won’t be here in Maryland on that day but hey, technology made it easy for us to be at multiple places at the same time. So, while I am attending the Valentine’s Day celebration at the Atlanta church, I will be here on this page running the game.

Remember, there is a prize for the winner of this game!

So, here is how we are going to play the game.

On Saturday, February 14 from 11am to 3pm, the Appeal for Purity Facebook page feature which allows you to post a picture will be on. Continue reading The Valentine’s Day Game!
